I should have known better. Came here because Chipotle had a line out the door. Ordered the pesto pasta, and as the restaurant name implies, I got to see how it was made. Noodles reheated in water for 1 minute. Cold chicken chunks scooped on top. Then pesto sauce squirted from a bottle. Here's your pasta; that'll be $9 please. Next time I'll wait in line at chipotle.

This place is a gem because of the DIY experience of having a pizza made in front of your own eyes. This place has it all from the freestyle coke machine to frozen yogurt to pasta to salad to pizza (did I cover it all?). The people that work here are super nice but they do lack a little bit of social skills which can make the interaction a bit awkward. I have to say that if you come here get froyo or pizza; don't get the pasta, it's not that great because they kinda just take the boiled pasta and put a bunch of sauce over it.

Couldn't wait for the place to open. Our whole family loves it. The sauce is perfect. Ingredients always look very fresh. All the fun of making your own pizza, but a lot better! No mess to clean up!

Great new spot in the oakbrook area. You create your own brick oven pizzas... employees and staff are outstanding and willing to offer noteworthy pizza making opinions. They grow their own basil behind the counter which is unique and expresses the freshness and quality of their food. There is a frozen yogurt section inside this location which makes for a nice healthier desert option and they offer a 100 flavor coke machine... although I don't drink pop its still cool! Can't wait to go back!

yummmmmmmy! what an awesome idea for a good deal! you have 3 options, you can build a Pizza, a pasta, and a salad. AND YES you can put as many ingredients you want on your pizza with no extra cost. for about $8...it's filling!!! I couldn't even finish my pizza. They also have a frozen yogurt section for a sweet taste after. The staff are super nice, they seem very helpful and patience while ordering. They call your name when it's ready. The pizza only took 10 minute in the oven. They have healthy ingredients, GMO free, they grow their own I believe.

Love this place! Great for a family like mine that can never agree. Lots of choices, reasonably priced, and drink is included! Bonus - they have froyo too!

Good pizza, great concept, HORRIBLE service from "Jennifer." I was excited to try this place but the experience but it was ruined. Jennifer is rude and whoever her hiring manager is should know it. Every time I tried asking her a question about the toppings she just rushed me through the line like she had something way more important to be doing. She doesn't deserve this job. Find someone else who understands how to treat customers. I won't be coming back.

I came here for the first time today. It's just like Chipotle where you see all the possible toppings in front of you and use your creativity to pick all of the toppings for your pizza- including the sauce, cheese, veggies, meats, greens, etc. It's $8.25 for unlimited toppings and a drink. It's thin crust by the way. They also have suggestions on their menu with pre-picked toppings and such in case you don't know what to get. They also have a menu for pastas as well. I got alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, sausage, meatballs, green peppers, onions, and spinach. It was ready in maybe 5-10 minutes and it was deeelicious! They also have those fancy pop machines with the touch screen and the employees were all super nice! There are frozen yogurt dispensers as well with free samples. Came here again and got Pesto sauce, mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, pepperoni, sausage, meatballs, green peppers, onions, and spinach. Again... it was scrumptious!

Nothing screams "you're in for a good experience" like a clean atmosphere and fresh foodie smell when you first walk into a place. This spot had both, I was rather excited! There's a huge TruGurt to the right of the restaurant that caught my attention before I even looked at the pizza menu, neatly mounted on flat screens behind the counter. I was a little disappointed that chicken was the only meat option for non-red meat eaters. Pretty limited for 2015 if u ask me. If u lean on the glass close enough, there are stanchions displaying what each option is. It was more difficult for my bf to see them and he's a lot taller than my 4'11 self so I imagine the average customer may have a hard time seeing it also. By the time I reached the end of the line and my pizza was put into the fire, I was sure I'd either be waiting a long time or my pizza wouldn't be done completely. I was pleased to learn I was wrong. I waited less than 10 minutes and the pizza was delicious!! A "free" drink is included with the order. I was also offered by the shift leader to sample the frozen-yo while we waited. Not sure if he saw me looking on yelp and wanted to boost the ratings or if his offer was genuine, but it felt good. :-) I didn't try the frozen-yo but I'm now wishing I had. I'll certainly be back.

uBuild is going on my lunch rotation! I came with Grant P back in October. He loved it; i thought it was good but not great. I've been wanting pizza all week and didn't feel like ordering a huge large pizza because that'd mean that I have to eat ALL THAT pizza. I figured that uBuild was a good idea because I could get an individual pizza. This time around, I ordered the Alfredo Pizza (chicken, bacon, alfredo sauce) and added onion, green pepper and red roasted peppers. This pizza was great! It was so delicious. In fact, my husband decided to order pasta and that we'd split, but I really wanted his grubby hands off my pizza. I highly recommend this one. As the name indicates, you can build your own pizza from scratch or they have a few that you can order then add/take off whatever you don't like. The pasta was mediocre. It wasn't completely hot. We both thought that after they built the pasta bowl, that it would get some kind of warming up, but it didn't. It wasn't bad, but the pizza was better. I also like that the prices are pretty fair. You get a drink with each entree purchase and they have a Freestyle machine, so you can pick whatever you want. This location also has froyo/sorbet, so I took a couple samples. The blueberry italian ice tasted like a Blue Icee. The employees here are really nice and build your pizza really quick. I made it here, ate and was back to work in less than 45 minutes.

Great idea with great execution. This place is super-shiny and clean, which makes sense, given how new it is. You can actually go right or left when you go in -- right for yogurt, left for pizza. We came for pizza. (They also have pasta and salad.) You basically have three choices to start: plain cheese, pre-configured options, or build-your-own. We both did build your own. There are three or four sauce options, five (?) cheese options and a boatload of toppings. I went for standard red sauce, mozzarella (should've added some parmesan, too) and a variety of veggies - spinach, red pepper, tomato, red onion, garlic. There doesn't seem to be a limit on the toppings, although it's a very thin crust, so you probably don't want to go overboard. My husband did a barbecue sauce and a few different meats for his build your own. Then they pop your pizza in the oven and it's ready very quickly. In the meantime, go play with the Coke Freestyle machine -- drinks are included with entrees. There's not a *ton* of seating for the space -- several booths, a big communal table in the middle and a bar-style counter at the window. They also have DIY froyo and tea, as part of a partnership with TruGurt. Now, you do assume a certain amount of responsibility for your own pizza, since you can choose your own adventure. But the crust was crispy with a nice amount of chew, the ingredients were fresh, and the cheese just right. The size was just right and the pizza delicious. It would be kind of nice if they had a mini-salad maybe for on the side. But I could also see getting two pizzas and one salad for two-three people to share, if you can all agree. :) One note on the location, this little strip mall is sort of oddly located, and you'll have to do a U-Turn if you're coming from the west or want to exit east.

I don't know what it is about me and these fast casual build-it-yourself places, but I seriously love them. I think it's partially the fact that I'm so impatient, so having my food ready as soon as I order it (or shortly thereafter) is just the bee's knees to me. Perhaps I'm just lazy and the idea of cooking or having someone cook the way I tell them to just appeals to me way more than cooking myself. Either way, enter UBuild Pizza Workshop and I'm in heaven. I came here with my budz Courtney C. and Michael C. and we gave them a whirl on their first full day open. There are a variety of pizzas, pastas or salads that can be constructed for you based on their suggested ingredients. Or, you can either build one of your complete creation or edit one of their existing plans. I went with their meaty pizza and added hot dog slices, roasted red peppers and roasted garlic. I'll likely also be adding Pepto later, but that's my fault, not theirs. Your creation is made assembly-line style, and once the ingredients from each station are added, the entree is passed to the next person, eventually ending up in the fire oven. It takes about 5 minutes, and in the meantime you can go play with their Coca Cola Freestyle machine. By the time you have your (FREE) drink (Yeah, drinks are included with entrees!) your pizza is done and ready to eat. Easy in, out, delicious done. Oh yes sir, I will be back. And soon.

Highly recommend. It's a great fast casual restaurant with good pizza that's cooked in 5 minutes. They have antibiotic free meats, gluten free dough, and GMO free ingredients. You can also get some frozen yogurt after the meal.

The "build it yourself" thing is very popular right now but this is the first DIY pizza place I've tried. They actually have three entree options - pizza, pasta or salad - that utilize the wide range of toppings behind the counter, and a soup of the day, plus the whole Trugurt yogurt/toppings selection off to the side. It's fairly overwhelming, but I like that they have some suggested options on the menu boards to start from. Since it was my first time I went with the veggie pizza. It was a solid thin crust pizza with a unique mix of veggies. My only minor complaint is the cheese wasn't super browned or bubbly, just melted. But again, minor, overall it was really good, nice crust, good sauce and good amount of cheese and toppings. I could only eat half, which at about 9 bucks for two meals (I just reheated the other half for lunch today) is a great deal in my book. You get a free small soda (coke freestyle machine) with your entree which is a nice bonus. I didn't try the yogurt but they had a great selection of flavors that was very tempting, and it looked very clean and fresh, not messy like some self serve places can be. The decor is very modern/minimalist with a workshop theme. Lots of wood and tools, but sparse. The most interesting thing is the indoor greenhouse growing tons of fresh basil! There isn't a TON of seating - maybe five booths and a big bar height table with stools - but it wasn't super busy so we didn't have any problems. The employees I interacted with were nice, but not overly bubbly or friendly, which is OK.

Welcome to Chipotle for Pizza- I love this place. Like a Chipotle or Subway, you start with a blank slate and choose everything from sauce to toppings to cheese. Some of the pizza toppings are even grown in-store, and that's a nice touch. The employees are all super friendly and seem to really like working there. My go to is a meaty pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and crumbled meatball. All the pizzas are cooked in this pizza oven that takes about six minutes to fully cook a pizza, and they are amazing. The pizza is thin crust and is crispy with some give. All the toppings are fresh, and with the included drink, my bill was under $10. Bonus? If your pizza is a carry out, the bottom of the box has directions on how to cut out box pieces to make a ship. For $10, this beats most other chain lunch spots in the area. Color me impressed.

We had 1 prototype pizza with spicy sauce and parmesan cheese, 1 barbeque pizza with cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan cheese and chicken and one original pasta with marinara and parmesan cheese. Soft drinks are included with the price. We gave all of our entrees 5-stars. Take a look at their online menu. It is a simple menu but I think that helps to get the food out quickly and also to keep costs down. The workers were friendly and knew their responsibilities. We'll be back.

The staff was nice, the prices are affordable, and the seating area is comfortable...but none of that really matters if the pizza isn't tasty. The mozzarella is no good, the sauce is boring and bland, and the crust does not taste like pizza crust should. I wish the owners all the best, but I simply did not like the food at all. I'll give it two stars instead of one because of the prompt and capable service by the staff.

My wife and I had a day off and were headed out for some holiday shopping. Having missed breakfast we wanted to grab a quick lunch. We were headed to one of the regular fast casual spots in the Oak Brook area but saw the signs for this new place, so we have it a shot. We walked in and were the only patrons in the restaurant, good for us as we didn't know how the system worked and could take our time. The team was very helpful and told us about how everything worked. You can build your own pasta, pizza (oven cooked in about 4 minutes) or salads and select whatever toppings you want. We both ordered personal pizzas. My wife made a great selection, spicy sauce, pesto, feta, and spinach. Mine was good too, but her pizza was so tasty. The pizzas came with free fountain beverages which is good due to the higher price of the entree items. The pizza was quite filling so portion size was good, and bordered on write filling. The edges of the crust were a little crisp from the oven so neither of us ate them but the rest of the pizza was great. It reminded me a lot of pizza I used to get at Bertucci's on the east coast. The atmosphere is fun, construction themed with flat screens broadcasting ESPN, the Coke machine with the limitless selection, and there is fro-yo franchise in there. You are covered on all fronts. Check it out! It's definitely worth a try, especially for picky eaters who want a special pizza. They have quality food and some non-GMO and gluten free options. Vegetarians can do well here too.

We have eaten here many times. The service is friendly, the pizza delicious. It's great to pick your toppings - I never pass up a chance for fresh mozzarella. The gluten free crust is a little thicker than the usual crust, but they do not charge extra for gluten free. The fancy pop machines give you about any flavor combo you can dream up. We haven't tried the salad or pasta, but we highly recommend the pizza here!

Great food, great prices, friendly staff, very clean, and very unique. Salads are all great as are the pizzas. My new favorite lunch spot. Only "complaint" - lose the wood booths, not very comfortable.

Great pizza ready in under 5min. Solid options. Fresh ingredients at a great price. DONT SLEEP ON THIS PLACE. I got the ubuild your own pizza-unlimited toppings. You can't go wrong with that. Look past the major chains next to Ubuild and try it out. Greatly priced menu items. Its a lot of za for the price and you can get it to go also!

I had to try this place with all of the 5-star reviews, and was disappointed. I had the salad and pizza here, and think they are both rather bland. Salad: There are a large variety of toppings, but the salad isn't chopped/tossed and just bland. The chicken is boiled and doesn't really add anything to the salad. On a positive note, there seems to be no extra charge for anything... So you can get unlimited toppings and unlimited chicken (hypothetically). Pizza: the pizza is cracker bread style almost and is better than the salad. If you want a light pizza option, then this could be for you. On the positive side, service was good and all meals include a drink, which makes it a nice affordable meal.

OMG what an awesome place! I loved everything about it the minute I walked in. The people are very friendly and the food was so delicious. I loved that they grow their own greens and you see it so that's a big plus. Then you get a choice to completely building your own pizza from scratch or order the ones they made up. I wanted to try the one they already came up with which was the Alfredo pizza (sounds a bit odd I know) but it was so good! They have a big variety of soda drinks which were complimentary with our order. Next time I would love to try their deserts one of them being a Nutella dessert but today when my boyfriend and I ate there we were stuffed and couldn't even try it. But I will absolutely come back here.

Figured I would try sownthing new. Walked in the staff was so friendly and made sure I didn't have any questions. I was a little nervous to order a pizza as I was on a time crunch and was affraid it was going to take too long, but it didn't take long at all! It was surprisingly fast! They made the pizza fresh in front of you. You can add toppings as you please. I had the pesto pizza. Very good! You also get a free fountain drink, which is one of those coke machines with 100 different combo options! The ingredients are fresh and the dough is gluten free, nears are hormone free and antibiotic free. If you get a to go box it even has instructions to build a treasure chest when you are done with it. It seemed to cover all the detail! I will go back to this place again for sure!

Okay so I wasn't sure what to expect, but oh my gosh! The pizza here is so delicious. I loved it. Wood oven, fresh ingredients, and it takes 5ish minutes to cook. I will definitely be coming back here!!

Pretty good. Was nearby on business and decided to stop by. Got here at 5:30 and it was dead but rapidly picked up by 6:15. You build your own pizza (not huge but more than enough for one person) at a flat rate for whatever toppings you want. Lots of topping choices. Drinks are free. Dessert is frozen yogurt in multiple flavours (organic) and priced by the ounce. Overall a pretty good place.

This place is just ok. We ordered a salad with our pizza and they had no cucumbers, no carrots. I think the only veggies were green pepper, mushroom and onion. Great for pizza, not good enough for a salad. Also, the salad greens were romaine, spinach or arugula...may be better if they had a spring mix option instead of arugula. On the upside, soft drinks are free with an entree and there is also a yogurt place inside, so you can have frozen yogurt and all your toppings after.

I absolutely love this place. I took my niece and I was impressed with the quality of the (food / non GMO) and the pizza tastes great. I went back another day for the salad. I will be back again!!!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
